CRADLE OF FILTH To Finish Up Writing New Music This Fall

New Cradle Of Filth has a lot to live up to.

New Cradle Of Filth has a lot to live up to.

Cradle Of Filth has been putting out full-length albums since 1994, but I think it's safe to say that 2015's Hammer Of The Witches was hands down the band's best effort yet. The album was written with new guitarists Rich Shaw and Marek "Ashok" Šmerda, as well as keyboardist, vocalist, and violinist Lindsay Schoolcraft, who all joined the group in 2014.

Now that revamped lineup will sit down to write hopefully another classic this fall! Cradle Of Filth frontman Dani Filth says in a recent press release that the band began writing in March and has about 50% of the album done already, prior to its upcoming writing sessions in Brno, Czech Republic. He adds that one track being considered for the new album is a song not used for Hammer Of The Witches called "Achingly Beautiful."

"As a band, we are very much looking forward to our writing session in Brno. It's going to be very inspirational to just bury ourselves away in a rehearsal room in the Czech Republic and knead our ammunition of razor-sharp, flesh-ripping sonic torments into sinister form. Hopefully when we emerge from our musical chrysalis one week later, something beautiful will be born.

The new Cradle Of Filth album will be mostly written. Then will come the long autumnal evenings bringing the monster further to life by dressing it in lyricism. I can hardly wait! As a band, Cradle Of Filth have already written about fifty percent of the material towards the new album, which now requires collating and readdressing."

Who knew we'd all be anxiously awaiting new Cradle Of Filth material?
