What The Hell Are THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR and SUMERIAN RECORDS Up To?

THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR To Appear On-Stage With WINDS OF PLAGUE
This should be interesting. The Ultimate Warrior (yeah, the pro wrestler) will be appearing ON STAGE with Winds of Plague at their Halloween night show (October 31st) at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, CA. Warrior will be performing his spoken word intro "The Warrior's Code" which appears on the band's latest album, Against The World. The same show will see an Asking Alexandria live DVD taping, which will feature Guns N Roses has-been Steven Adler sitting in on drums with the band. This will be just two days after Warrior is scheduled to do a signing at Sound Check Hollywood. If you've never heard Warrior's spoken word intro before, it's pretty fantastic. Check it out: (more…)

We've just received a press release that on Winds of Plague's new album, there will be a guest appearance by former WWF World Champion, the Ultimate Warrior. Chicks in Metal: Are You Listening with the Wrong Head?
Metal used to be a boy’s club… pioneered by sweaty, shirtless dudes in leather pants blasting out the world’s loudest and heaviest incarnation of rock ‘n’ roll for other sweaty, shirtless dudes in the pit. Nothing wrong with that! But a new type of pioneer has been creeping up into metal’s consciousness for well over 30 years now. From Girlschool to Thorr’s Hammer to Agoraphobic Nosebleed, women have been rightfully claiming their territory in the realm of heavy and extreme metal. Unfortunately, with true brilliance in progression, the trend-hoppers and money-grubbers of the music industry won’t be far behind.
Got a hot chick in your metal band that will get half-naked for press shots? Great! Sign here, here and initial here.
Now I admit that I’m a sucker for hot metal babes. Hell, I even stapled pages of the Century Media’s 2009 Maiden’s of Metal calendar to the walls of the Earache Records office. The only problem is that after labels become transparent in their attempts to cash in by signing any band with a hot, tattooed front-woman, it begins to delegitimize the truly talented women of metal. I also think that it trains the listener to accept sub-par music because they begin to listen with the wrong head. So here’s a list of some of metal music’s hottest and most popular goddesses, only I’ll be suggesting whether it’s more effective to listen with: (more…)

Are these nude photos of WINDS OF PLAGUE's Alana Potocnik real?
Well looky here. MetalSucks got their hands on some nude photos of Winds of Plague's Alana Potocnik found on scene pr0n blog Is Anyone Up. This is the second Winds of Plague keyboardist to be spotted with n00dz on the net. One question that immediately came to mind were if these photos were real. We sent the photos to the Metal Injection Investigative Lab department and they came back with this startling photo that hopes to makes things more clear as if to if this is real or not (click to see the larger NSFW version).
Axl over at MetalSucks speculates that this might be one big publicity stunt, in which case Winds of Plague is currently working on a new album expected to be released this summer right in time for their stint on Warped Tour.

WINDS OF PLAGUE, AFTER THE BURIAL, CARNIFEX announce Winter 2010 tour

This cold weather is really depressing me. What's more depressing is it's only October. I can only imagine how terrible it will get in December. Thankfully, Winds of Plague is looking to keep me warm and active (in the mosh pit, natch) as they announced a new headlining tour for late November/early December. They will be joined by After The Burial, Carnifex, War Of Ages, and Upon A Burning Body for what they are calling the December Decimation tour. Here is the full routing: (more…)
