Over the weekend, Slipknot teased a major announcement this morning with the accompanying graphic of a carival with Slipknot flags all over it. Today, they released an announcement. They will be curating the first ever KnotFest will take place on August 17th at the Mid-America Motorplex in Pacific Junction, Iowa and Saturday August 18th in Somerset, on the border of Wisconsin and Minnesota.
There will be circus big-top tents, pillars of fire, amusement park rides, burlesque performers, firebreathers, stilt walkers, drum circles made of junkyard cars and graffiti walls. A Slipknot museum will also be launched. Oh, and of course there will be music! (more…)

3 Inches of Blood just posted a new track on their Facebook page, and it's a tribute to the "Metal Woman." It's a pretty rad track, and making me anticipate their forthcoming release, Long Live Heavy Metal even more. The album comes out this Monday, March 26th.

Prong is back! Tommy Victor and company have a new track streaming on Metal Insider. Prong's new album, Carved Into Stone comes out April 24 on Long Branch.
There have been a lot of names thrown around at certain members of Fear Factory. But one thing you cannot call the band is lazy. They have been on the road constantly and don't look to be stopping anytime soon. The band is keeping themselves busy all through June and July with stints featuring bands like All That Remains, Prong, 36 Crazyfists, After The Burial and others on select dates. Max Cavalara and crew have been really kind to let us into their studio, submitting some studio reports and the latest one is the best yet. We hear Max recording the chorus to one of the tracks, "Bloodbath and Beyond", as well as previews of contributions from Tommy Victor (PRONG) and Greg Puciato (DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN). From what I hear, this shit sounds killer. I look forward to hearing the finished product when it comes out in early 2010. For now we have this update…
