Legendary hardcore punk group Corrosion of Conformity are going to have Lamb of God's Randall Blythe on the mic for a new project, which also involves coolest man in rock, Dave Grohl. Prepare yourself. (more…)
I have yet to make it to a GWAR-B-Q, but it looks like this is the year for me to do it. The band will be holding the fourth annual party at Hadad's Water Park in Richmond, VA on Saturday, August 17th and have amassed quite the lineup. (more…)
Last week, the fest revealed half it's lineup but now we have the full listing… (more…)
Scion Rock Fest is basically the best thing ever. While people might complain about Scion putting their corporate paws into the metal world, there is no denying how polite and caring those paws are. I will never forget my experience at the inaugral Rock Fest, and with the lineup for this year just announced, I may have to get down to Memphis this June to see this thing. I mean, take a look at these bands: (more…)

Before you read the recap, browse the massive photo gallery from Bloodstock
This being my third Bloodstock in a row, it felt much more like a yearly traditional visit with an old friend than it did “work”. Boasting what was described by many as being their “best line-up yet” and also the best weather I’d ever seen in this little corner of Derby, BOA 2012 was a beautiful experience, without a doubt.
Regardless of the fact that Bloodstock is steadily growing in attendance and might, it is one of the few festivals that still feels “intimate” – like you’re among family. (Not the dysfunctional, embarrassing, “bat shit insane family” that you consistently try to avoid every holiday season, but the GOOD kind of “family”.) The ones you have obscene amounts of fun with, and can’t wait to see every summer. (more…)
Scion A/V has done it again! A few weeks after releasing a crushing new EP from Revocation, for free we might add, they are doing it all over again with stoner rock legends Corrosion of Conformity. COC will be releasing a free a 5-track EP courtesy of Scion A/V tomorrow, called Megalodon. The EP will featuring the original three-piece lineup of guitarist Woody Weatherman, bassist Mike Dean and drummer Reed Mullin.
If you are as impatient as we are and can't wait until tomorrow, we have you covered with the exclusive premiere of one of the new tracks, "Priest Brains." Take a listen: (more…)
High On Fire is heading back on the road. The band's last national tour, as part of Mayhem Fest, had to be cancelled as frontman Matt Pike decided he needed to clean up his act and head into rehab. Pike is looking good nowadays, and is ready to hit the road again. The band has lined up a pretty stellar tour with Goatwhore, Primate and Lo-Pain. Primate, of course, features Mastodon's Bill Kelliher and Kevin Sharp of Brutal Truth in what I believe, is their first national tour. As if that wasn't sweet enough, Corrosion of Conformity are hopping in for the last three dates of the tour. The trek kicks off November 15 in Austin, TX and will run through December 22. Here is the announced routing: (more…)
Gaza are pissed off. I mean, dangerously pissed off. They’re one of the few bands in the extreme music today that actually lives up to such classification, whether it’s the blistering time signature changes on I Don’t Care Where I Go When I Die or the monolithic funeral dirges at the start of He Is Never Coming Back. The bottom line is, Gaza are scary as hell, filled with vitriol towards 95% of modern society, and four of the nicest guys I’ve had the opportunity to chat with. I met with Gaza after their almost unpleasantly loud set in Charlotte, North Carolina to chat with them about what it’s like to be a black sheep, North Carolina’s new marriage amendment, who they’d record a split with, and the band’s undying love for Metallica. More below: (more…)
Corrosion of Conformity are serious about getting back on the road. They have a slew of dates booked this month with Torche and Valient Thorr and now they've went ahead and announced a tour in June as well. They will be taking out Torche once more, as well as Black Cobra and the mighty GAZA. This sounds like quite the killer package of down tuned heavyness, so it gets the MI stoner seal of approval. Here are the dates: (more…)

We have a slew of new music to tell you about today, so much so that we decided it's time for another audio roundup. We got tracks from former ISIS vocalist Aaron Turner, 3 Inches of Blood, Corrosion of Conformity, Stick To Your Guns, Remembering Never and Thy Will Be Done. Let's get started:
Hey, what's former ISIS frontman Aaron Turner up to nowadays? If you said fronting an old-school crusty punk band, then you are correct! The band is Split Cranium and their self-titled debut LP comes out on Turner's Hydra Head Records on March 20th. Above is your first taste of new music from the band. (more…)
If you like your metal sludgy, chances are you are a Corrosion of Conformity fan. And who could blame you? COC rule! Today is your lucky day because Metal Hammer premiered two new tracks which you can hear above. I'm digging the tracks, and I feel I'd dig them a lot more if I was stoned. I think I can fix this problem shortly. COC's new self-titled album hits stores February 28th on Candlelight Records. The band will also be doing extensive touring, dates here.
Light 'em up e'rybody! Corrosion Of Conformity is hitting the road in March to promote their forthcoming self-titled release, out February 28th on Candlelight. They will be joined by fellow-stoner-jammers Torche, Valient Thorr and A Storm Of Light. Earplugs are a must if you're going to be attending this tour. Unless you don't want to be able to continue going to shows for the rest of your life, then leave the earplugs at home. Here are the dates: (more…)
COC fans rejoice! After getting the Animosity-era lineup back for a string of shows this past year, Corrosion of Conformity are now ready to take the next step. The band just announced they signed a deal with Candlelight Records and will have an album out early next year. The band is currently hard at work on a new record with long-time producer John Custer.
