WOLVHAMMER Hits Up The Studio

Did the world just get a little bleaker? I thought I saw the dimming of light.

I forget where the hell I first heard Wolvhammer, but damn did I fall in love. They're an interesting blend of black metal and what can only be described as "super evil sounds conjured straight from the void." So it is with the bleakest, most desolate voice I can muster (I can't) that I tell you the band are recording their third full-length right now at Hideaway Studio in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I'd imagine Profound Lore are going to be releasing the record since they did 2011's The Obsidian Plains too. Guitarist Jeff Wilson seems pretty grim about the whole thing.

“Just waking up on what is day five of recording for LP #3… fortunately for myself not hungover today. We finished up all of the drums/auxiliary percussion last night, which means we’ll be knocking out guitars and bass for the next three days or so. Wrapping it up on Wednesday and shipping it off to be mastered. This one is definitely going to come out of left field for some of those familiar with our other material. Be forewarned.”
