SLIPKNOT Planning Anniversary Re-Release Of All Hope Is Gone

Plus a re-release of their 1999 debut record.

Plus a re-release of their 1999 debut record.

Slipknot released their album All Is Hope Gone in 2008, which seems wrong only because I refuse to believe I was a freshman in college 10 years ago. In an interview with The Des Moines Register, percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan confirms that the band will release an anniversary edition of the record alongside a 20-year anniversary edition of their landmark 1999 debut album in 2019.

“Oh, for sure,” Crahan said, who confirmed he’s gathering material for a re-release of the band’s fourth album, “All Hope Is Gone.” That album debuted 10 years ago in August.

“I’m in a band and I can’t stand that,” Crahan said of how he once viewed "corporate" anniversary projects. “But now, I’m like ‘wow.’ For instance, I’m working for ‘All Hope Is Gone,’ …and what I’m doing is I’m using the stuff I would’ve never approved.

"Now I can look at it and go, ‘Wow. The fans need to see this.’”

Slipknot also recently announced a themed Halloween haunted house in Des Moines, Iowa. So in the event you weren't sure if Slipknot were a huge household name at this point, let me reiterate – merchandising and two reissues people will totally buy.
