Quick Bits - Warrel Dane, NEVERMORE, ARCH ENEMY, TESTAMENT, SOILWORK, AKEROCOCKE, RAGING SPEEDHORN, and more!

NEVERMORE singer Warrel Dane recently stated that his upcoming solo release with ex-SOILWORK guitarist Peter Witchers, and former HIMSA guitarist Matt Wicklund have approximately eight songs ready to record. The album is due in early 2008.

Warrel also stated that NEVERMORE has begun working on new songs.

The new Soilwork album has completed the mixing process. It’s due out later this year via Nuclear Blast.

AKERCOCKE will play a special anniversary show at the Underworld in London England August 4th, and will film the show for a DVD/CD, to be released later this year on Goat Of Mendes Records.

Support acts for the show will be KINGSIZE BLUES, TED MAUL and BREEDAPART.

RAGING SPEEDHORN will release their upcoming album, titled “Before the Sea Was Built” in North America on September 11th. While I didn’t get the name of the record label, I suspect that SPV/Steamhammer will release it.

BIRDS OF PREY have recently entered the studio to record their upcoming album, titled “Sulfur and Semen”, to be released late 2007/early 2008 through Relapse. Current song titles so far are “Lice Halo”, “Where Black Lungs Don’t Breathe”, “Satisfy the 45″, and “Turning Big Rocks Into Little Rocks”.

It is rumoured that ARCH ENEMY have titled their new album “Rise of the Tyrant”, said to be released September 25th through Century Media.

BLEED THE SKY have stated that their new album will be titled “Murder the Dance”, and will feature twelve tracks. Guitars, bass and rums have been recorded, and the vocals will be recorded at Christian Olde Woldbers (Fear Factory) studio.

WITHIN Y are scheduled to hit the studio sometime between September and October. They’re planning to have a demo posted soon.

MIDDIAN are planning to released their album “Age Eternal” as a dual vinyl July 30th via Land O Smiles. The 500 limited 12″ copies will be packaged in a gatefold cover.

Over at the TEXTURES official website, you can view news about the lineup changes dealing with bass players, as well as an update for planning a new album in 2008.

A world-wide deal has been signed between TESTAMENT and Nuclear Blast Records. The band are planning to enter the studio in late summer or early fall to record their latest album, shooting for a release in March 2008.
