THE RED CHORD's Gunface To Take Over Bass Duties For JOB FOR A COWBOY's Summer Slaughter Run

Job For A Cowboy are set to hit the road this summer as part of the Summer Slaughter tour along side Cannibal Corpse, Between The Buried And Me, The Faceless, Exhumed and more. As most people know anything and everything that could go wrong on a tour, usually does. However in the case of Job For A Cowboy and the Summer Slaughter tour 2012, problems have arisen way before the band has played a single note. The band's bassist, Nick Schendzielos is out of Job For A Cowboy

…only temporarily. The lineup change is due to a personal crisis in which Nick's girlfriend was involved in a head on collision while driving her scooter, landing her in the ICU. Nick Schendzielos flew home immediately to be with her and plans to miss some if not all of the tour. Obviously our thoughts and good vibes are with Nick and his girlfriend during these troubling times.

Fortunately for the band and it's fans, however, Mike “Gunface” McKenzie, guitarist for The Red Chord, is picking up the bass duties for this year Summer Slaughter tour. In a short message to the press, Nick Schendzielos said:

Hey friends: On June 28, immediately after landing in Boston to rehearse for Puerto Rico/Summer Slaughter, my girlfriend was in a head-on collision on her scooter. She sustained very serious head and bodily injuries. I flew right home, and we’ve been in the ICU for a week and are still in the hospital to make sure everything is okay. She needs 24/7 supervision for at least two weeks once we get out of here, so I’m very grateful to announce that Gunface from The Red Chord is going to help me out filling in on Summer Slaughter until I can meet back up with it. We love the dude very much and it’s going to be really cool for both JFAC and TRC fans to see. Enormous thanks for understanding this difficult situation and I’ll be back as soon as possible!

Mckenzie is also looking forward to the opportunity to play with Job For A Cowboy, even if the circumstances leading up to this opportunity are less than desirable.

I’m excited to be playing with JFAC on this tour. Great dudes in this band as well as in the bands on Summer Slaughter. Playing bass is a little different for me but definitely an interesting challenge. I’m definitely looking forward to getting out on the road again. Nick’s bass work is incredible and I’m working hard to get all of his parts down. Sending positive vibes out to him and his lady.

So good news for fans as the band will not be dropping off the tour. You can see all the dates for this year's Summer Slaughter right here
