GRAMMYS 2012 Hard Rock/Metal Nominations Announced
- Posted by RobInjection on December 1, 2011
When I was reading through the list of this year's nominees for the Hard Rock/Metal category of the Grammys, I was shocked to see that the first four bands announced are actually modern metal bands performing original songs (and not covers, like years past). Just as I was about to give the Grammy voters some respect, they had to go and dump Sum 41 in the category. Gross! Here are the nominees:
Dream Theater – "On the Back of Angels"
Megadeth – "Public Enemy No. 1"
Foo Fighters – "White Limo"
Mastodon – "Curl of the Burl"
Sum 41 – "Blood In My Eyes"
How pissed is Mike Portnoy that Dream Theater gets nominated as soon as he leaves? Don't worry Mike, these awards don't mean shit. Personally, I'm rooting for either Megadeth or Foo Fighters. Heck, even Mastodon deserve the nod. But, lettuce be cereal… everybody knows Sum 41 is going to take the prize.

I think we can all agree that from now on the Grammys are no longer news worthy and therefore should not be mentioned ever again, yes?
Wholeheartedly agreed.
couldn't agree more.
fuckin joke
Definitely.
Agreed but i hope foo fighters sweep this year (doubt it though)
these grammys don't mean anything!
thats not NEARLY as bad as Coldplay getting the rock album of the year with viva la vida, beating metallica with death magnetic!
Maybe I'm alone in this, but I thought Sum 41's album "Chuck" was pretty awesome. It sounds nothing like their other albums; it's basically a melodic thrash album. Listen to "Welcome to Hell" if you don't believe me.
No im with you there, Chuck is actually a pretty good album if you give it a chance
