Dan Nelson Suing ANTHRAX For 2.6 MILLLLLLLION Dollars
- Posted by RobInjection on November 11, 2011
Remember when Anthrax had a new singer for a few months? Virtual unknown, local vocalist Dan Nelson was plucked out of obscurity to front the band as they got to work on Worship Music. The record was done and then all of the sudden the band decided to drop Nelson and reconcile with former vocalist Joey Belladonna. The thing is, it seems like Scott Ian and company can't really keep their mouths shut. So much so, that Nelson feels a lawsuit is in order.
The New York Post (of all places) is reporting that Nelson is suing the band to the tune of $2.6 million dollars for defamation of character. Nelson accuses the band of stating in interviews that "he had 'abruptly resigned' after getting sick, forcing a cancelation of a tour." He also points out in the suit that drummer Charlie Benante in the past has called him a bully. Additionally, he is suing the band for royalties he feels he is owed for co-writing some songs on Worship Music.
Looks like a good amount of drama is about to go down. I'm sure Anthrax are thrilled.
