CORROSION OF CONFORMITY To Hit The Studio With Pepper Keenan Very Soon

They're thinking it might be along the lines of 2005's In The Arms Of God

In late 2014, we posted about Pepper Keenan rejoining Corrosion Of Conformity for the first time since he left the group in 2006 and everyone pretty much went nuts. There was some talk about the band hitting the studio in January, though that never quite happened.

Now in an interview with Revue, guitarist for the group Woody Weatherman has revealed that after the band is done touring with Clutch, it'll hit the studio for real this time with longtime producer of the band John Custer. When asked what he thinks the new material will sound like, he said he hopes it'll pick up where 2005's In The Arms Of God left off!

“With our last record (with Pepper Keenan), In the Arms of God — we want to pick up where that left off,” he said. “We were on to something there, and then Katrina happened. Then the band went on hiatus and we never picked it back up until 2010 when we started doing the three-piece stuff.”

Them's some strong words, Weatherman. He also says that the band will be embracing a very melting-pot formula for the new material, ala classic bands that have influenced Corrosion Of Conformity over the years.

“When we started out, we loved a lot of the classic bands,” Weatherman said. “We’re huge Sabbath fans, and we love Bad Brains and The Melvins, and we just tried to meld it together in one big pot.”

So… 2016 might be an insane year for Corrosion Of Conformity and for its fans as well. I'm stoked!
