AEGAEON Recruits THE ZENITH PASSAGE Drummer, Promises A New Album

Is it finally time for new Aegaeon?

Is it finally time for new Aegaeon?

Sit down everyone, it's time for the yearly Aegaeon update! To give a brief recap, Aegaeon released two EPs and a full length between 2009 and 2012, all of which are amazing, and then pretty much lost most of its lineup in the ensuing years. Founding guitarist Sebastian Brown and bassist Nick Scott are still in the fold, and they've since recruited and released music with ex-Rose Funeral vocalist Julian Kersey.

Now the band has taken to social media to promise that it's absolutely going to finish a new album this year, and has also recruited The Zenith Passage drummer Matthew Paulazzo to get the job done.

We would like to thank everyone for being so patient with us on releasing new material! Due to a number of set backs throughout the past few years, we've been purposely low-key on social media until there is something to offer you. We have been working diligently on new material for a while now and the album WILL be completed this year.

With that said, we are beyond stoked to announce Matthew Paulazzo as our new drummer.

You may have seen him with us on the road the past year, or recognize him from our dudes in The Zenith Passage.

He has also been the missing piece we've been needing for this album to properly come to fruition, and we could not be more excited to have him with us, and share what we've been creating for you all.

Get stoked! Aegaeon 2k17!!!

Personally, I'm stoked to hear what Aegaeon sounds like on a full length in 2017. The only thing that might be vastly different from its previous releases is the orchestral stylings of now ex-guitarist Jerry Grannan, which may or may not have a huge impact on the ordeal.
