DEVILDRIVER and SUFFOCATION to go out on co-headlining tour

Posted on November 20th, 2009

Devildriver reppin Suffocation

Hmm, this is a little weird. DEVILDRIVER and SUFFOCATION are going out on the road together. Does this really make sense? I think there is some sense in it. SUFFOCATION are one of the heaviest bands on the planet, whereas DEVILDRIVER is sort of a gateway band into heavier music. Some 'driver fans than show up early may be blown away by Suffo and thus become converts, while others will just stand there with a confused gaze on their faces. It's heavily rumored that GOATWHORE and THY WILL BE DONE will also be on the bill. Is this a tour you see yourself attending?

HYPOCRISY cancel US tour due to immigration issues November 17, 2009

WTF America? Looks like one of the members of HYPOCRISY can't get a visa to get into the country in time for the start of their tour, resulting in the whole tour being canceled. In an update issued by frontman Peter Tägtgren, he promises "We will try to come back as soon as possible, as we want to show our U.S. fans that we care for them and we are ready to play the new songs live!" Damn, I was really looking forward to seeing Alexi shred along with the band.

ARCH ENEMY, EXODUS, ARSIS, MUTINY WITHIN: Tour dates revealed

Posted on October 13th, 2009

TyrantsOfEvil2010_admat

So one of the biggest Swedish death metal bands in the world, some storied thrash metal pioneer, a widely acclaimed technical metal band and one of Roadrunner's newest signees all walk into a venue…

Stumped? Our Broman Polanskis at Metalsucks have the answer. ARCH ENEMY, EXODUS, ARSIS and MUTINY WITHIN are bringing Christmas to North America a month late, in the form of an absolutely sick, must-see tour. Arch Enemy and Arsis will be promoting their upcoming albums (The Root of All Evil and Starve for the Devil, respectively,) Mutiny Within will be giving a taste of their 2010 debut and Exodus might make KIRK HAMMETT wish he'd never quit his first job. Don't even think about missing it. Dates are on the top image, as well as after jump: (more…)

NORMA JEAN, HORSE THE BAND, THE CHARIOT and ARSONISTS GET ALL THE GIRLS set out to distort the fuck out of a venue near you

Posted on October 7th, 2009

by: Rob Pasbani

norma-jean-tour

I don't know how I missed this before, but holy fuck – if you are a fan of noisy metal and hardcore and fun times, do I have a tour for you! NORMA JEAN is heading out on their first headlining tour in a year. They have handpicked a roster of openers that will surely (who you calling Shirley?) appease any Norma Jean fan which includes: HORSE THE BAND, THE CHARIOT and ARSONISTS GET ALL THE GIRLS.

Yes, I know what you're thinking…THE CHARIOT?! The band featuring Josh Scogin, former frontman of NORMA JEAN? Yes! And guess what, Norma Jean announced they will perform their seminal record Bless The Martyr and Kiss the Child in it's (almost) entirety (minus a 15 minute instrumental), which is pretty much my favorite record by them! And, if you followed the Atlanta natives you know that Josh Scogin sang on that record. And, you're probably asking yourself if he will join his previous band on stage. The band puts questions to rest and addresses the situation in a press release: (more…)

MI sponsoring BARONESS Fall Headlining Tour

Posted on September 17th, 2009

METAL Injection is proud to be one of the co-sponsors of the upcoming BARONESS tour. We cannot stop listing to the Blue Album here at the MI Studios, and it might just be the album of the year for us. Having seen this band countless times over the years at festival sized venues as well as in basements and lofts, I can tell you that they bring it no matter where they play. It's secondary to the wall of tone they hit you with. If this tour is coming to your town, do not miss it! Not familiar with some of the bands? Use the widget above to familiarize yourself with 'em. ROB ZOMBIE names album, announces tour & openers

Posted on September 15th, 2009

Signifying either a return to form or just how much his music has taken backseat to his directing career, ROB ZOMBIE's newest opus is christened Hellbilly Deluxe 2: Noble Jackals, Penny Dreadfuls and the Systematic Dehumanization of Cool and is set for a November release.
Thoughts:

1: Sequels are almost always a terrible idea.
2: The Devil's Rejects was far more entertaining than Educated Horses.
3: Rob Zombie is a dynamite performer who puts on a spectacular live show. Regardless of what his new music sounds like, count on being at one of the following shows, listed after the jump: (more…)

MEGADETH announce Fall 2009 tour with MACHINE HEAD, SUICIDE SILENCE

Posted on September 14th, 2009

MEGADETH Headcrusher Video

I've been listening to MEGADETH's new CD Endgame and it's pretty fucking killer. The best 'deth CD in quite a while. Which is why I am incredibly stoked that the band just announced a full US tour with MACHINE HEAD, SUICIDE SILENCE and ARCANIUM in toe. Unfortunately, the tour doesn't seem to hit too many major markets, making me wonder if they are saving those for a bigger tour package. YOU SCHMUCKS BETTER COME TO NY, DAMN IT! HATEBREED, CANNIBAL CORPSE, UNEARTH: Tour announced

Posted on September 9th, 2009

File under "things that make you go 'hmmm.'" Other than the fact that they're both heavy, HATEBREED and CANNIBAL CORPSE might be this year's oddest pairing. Are hardcore kids going to get down with the hammer smashed face? Are death metal fans going to stick around for the hardcore pits? Could be a crossover success, but I don't know. Hatebreed will be promoting their new album (out September 29) and UNEARTH, BORN OF OSIRIS and HATE ETERNAL gets to tag along. Full itenerary is after the jump. (more…)
