BARONESS kicked off their Metal Injection sponsored headlining tour yesterday in Washington, DC at the Rock and Roll Hotel and our favorite bootleger, Metal Nick was in attendance and you KNOW he had to capture some footage for you loyal junkies. A few weeks ago, we had the privilege of attending what very well could be the last BURNT BY THE SUN show on U.S. soil. Knowing this was such a monumental event, we had to tape some footage for you guys! The extremely-intimate (tiny as fuck) venue known as the Cake Shop was packed to the gills with Burnt fans ready to witness history. And, the band definitely delivered. We managed to capture the first four songs of their set. Check em out:

We're all about bringing underground bands to the masses, that's why we've teamed up with Portland, Oregon's ACROSS THE SUN for this free MP3 download of their track "The Ardent Optimist" off their recent release Pestilence & Rapture. The song, which starts off sounding like an American take on Gothenberg metal (think somewhere between DEVILDRIVER and SOILWORK) eventually bringing a melody in reminiscent of KILLSWITCH ENGAGE.

Admittedly, this is not very kvlt or grim or anything of the sort, this is just a fun and catch metal song to get you through your week. Is that so wrong? Download it below…

Norwegian metal act MIKSHA have posted a brilliant new music video highlighting the many uses of their new CD, The Vulture Conspiracy and also sneaking in a sampling of one of the tracks on the album, Morphine. A really great way to get noticed, if you ask me. Make a viral video poking fun at current pop culture while also exposing people to your music. Thumbs up! A funny video as well!

Yup yup! THEM CROOKED VULTURES, the supergroup featuring Josh Homme of QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, Dave Grohl and John Paul Jones of a little band known as LED ZEPPELIN have decided to use Youtube, a video site, as the source for their entire album stream. You can listen to the whole shebang above or here.

You owe it to yourself to either check out or revisit CANDIRIA, one of the most inventive and underrated bands in metal recently. New music from these guys is scarce, which is all the more reason why I'm majorly pumped for Candiria: A Process of Self Development, a film about the band due in 2010 and directed by Anthony Cortez-Fernandez. Besides having the Candiria name attached, it actually looks like a thoughtful, well-crafted movie, as hinted at in the trailer and clip below.

I don't know if you've been following this FEAR FACTORY drama, but here is a quick summary: Burton C. Bell and Dino reformed the band without telling the other two members, Christan and Raymond. Instead they got Byron Stroud and Gene FN Hoglan to be in the band. Christian and Raymond didn't even know about it and apparently own 50% of the name and are all like OH NO YOU DON'T!!

Earlier this week even, founding FEAR FACTORY drummer, Raymond Herrera, commented that new (nu?) FEAR FACTORY drummer Gene "The Machine" Hoglan might not even be able to keep up, saying: (more…)

REVOCATION's new album Existance is Futile(review here) is one album I simply cannot get out of rotation on my MP3 player. It's just so fucking good. I love the way they integrate hardcore cliches with death metal shredding to make something new and original. This band must be heard! So, with permission from Relapse we are posting a free MP3 download of one of my favorite tracks on the album, "Dismantle The Dictator." If you are not headbanging like mad by the chant-a-long, I don't know what to tell you.

Wrestling is so awful now, its unbearable. I know, I know… some of you are saying "Rob, when was it ever bearable?" Well, it was to me. I was quite the die-hard, but lately it features some of the worst writing and booking imaginable, even by wrestling's low standards. Anyway, I tuned into to RAW last night, with DVR remote in hand to watch Ozzy Osbourne be the guest host, looking for something to bring to you fine Metal Injection junkies this morning. And, the above clip, is honestly, the only part that made me move the muscles in my face to what could be considered a mild smile, perhaps even a chuckle. To set it up, instead of having, you know, actual wrestling matches, the WWE decided to do an impromptu "Raw's Got Talent," a takeoff of Sharon Osbourne's waste of a show, America's Got Talent. And, before you watch the clip, I just want to say: No Homo!

Yes! Yes! Yes! The metal gods known to mere mortals as SLAYER (more commonly referenced as SLLLLLAAAYYYYYYEEERR) have teamed up with the social networking behemoth Myspace to stream their stellar new release, World Painted Blood before it's official release this Tuesday. Why are you still reading this? Click this link and get whiplash from headbanging so hard. Seriously, this album rips.

A few nights ago while watching the Colbert Report, I saw the above segment which Stephen discusses a new website, Hollywood Is Calling where "celebrities" who are strapped for cash charge you to create a video message. More to the point, charge 300 dollars to read your resume. Who is one of these celebrities? Former MEGADETH bassist Dave Ellefson! The clip even features Dave reading somebody's resume.

Dave, buddy, what the hell are you doing? Have you no shame? Clearly, you do not seeing as though you are a part of this, but there has to be an easier way for you to make some cash.
