I have to just say, whoever is handling publicity for AC/DC and specifically Guns N Roses deserves a bonus of some sort. The way they have been able to control the news cycle, with leaking a "rumor" of what's going to happen, only to confirm said rumor hours before a big event and then capitalize on all the publicity is truly a master class.

Late last night, AC/DC confirmed that Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose will be their vocalist going forward for their remaining scheduled dates in 2016. At the time, people wrote that the news might overshadow Guns N' Roses' big Coachella performance. Well, it definitely did not. If nothing else, it added to the performance. That's because mid-way through the set, Axl Rose invited legendary AC/DC guitarist Angus Young up on stage to offer a preview of what Axl singing for AC/DC would sound like…

"Since I can't run around for you, we're gonna bring out a friend, put a little life into things for us," Rose, confirmed to his throne due a fractured foot, said to the crowd before bringing out Angus to jam with himself, Slash, Duff and the rest of GNR.

Interestingly, the two AC/DC covers chosen were relatively obscure gems, "Whole Lotta Rosie" and "Riff Raff," two Bon Scott-era songs. From the sounds of the live footage, Axl sounded like Axl:

Axl will join AC/DC after the band's second Coachella performance next week for a European tour, and then kick off GNR's summer stadium tour. After GNR's touring has ceased, AC/DC will reschedule their remaining U.S. dates.

Here are some more non-AC/DC live bootlegs of GNR at Coachella…
