Black metal extraordinaire Ihsahn will release his new album Amr on May 4, which seems to hearken back quite a bit to his older and more straightforward Emperor material. Ihsahn's new song "Wake" is more of that blasting relentless sound, though with the giant clean choruses the man has come to make a name for himself over in recent years. It's also cool to see Ihsahn taking a more focused and darker approach to his music after Arktis, which seemed a little more scattered and focused on a rock edge above all.
