METALLICA post "The Day That Never Comes" single online (and it doesn't suck)

The Day That Never Comes Metallica have just posted their first official single off their upcoming Death Magnetic release on their MySpace page. The song is called "The Day That Never Comes" and I have to say, maybe all my shit-talking was a little off. The song sounds great, kind of like "Fade to Black" meets "One". I'm officially excitied for this release and looking forward to hearing what else they got. Based on this song, and "Cyanide" which they played at Ozzfest, they have my attention for this release. What did you think of the song?

    Yes, it does. There's a decent riff at 4:06 and another at 5:02, but it's certainly not good enough to make me buy it. I like "Cyanide" a bit better, but Metallica just don't measure up to any of the newer metal bands nowadays. A/B them with any other band, and you'll notice just how much these guys need musical Viagra.

    I gotta be honest, I really don't like the first 4 minutes of it. But after that, I thought it was totally sick. I guess I just don't like when James sings anymore, he's getting older and his voice is changing.
