A little media trick for all you metal fans. It used to be fairly common practice for musicians to have live performances overdubbed with "playback" of the originally recorded song, in pop music particularly. Maiden was asked to perform on a German TV show, and I'm assuming the program insisted the band use playback. The band decided "Hey… let's show the world how awesome we all our at everybody else's instruments". Hilarious! I have to hand it to the band, it takes a lot of balls to do something like this.
