16-String Guitarist Felix Martin To Drop An Album In February 2017

It's like a really giant Chapman stick.

It's like a really giant Chapman stick.

Felix Martin clearly woke up one day and decided that one eight string guitar was not enough. So he bolted two together, played them both like a duo of Chapman sticks, and here we are. Now Martin is gearing up to get his tap on once more come February 2017 with a brand new album, which he says he aims to have not sound like just guitar music.

“For this album, I challenged myself to write every note original to my own sound and techniques. I tried to create an album that’s doesn’t sound like a guitar album, but rather like a band playing music that everyone can enjoy – from a metal audience to pop, from jazz to a classical audience – always keeping the technical aspects very present. It took me a year and a half to complete the writing. I spent a lot of time trying out different ideas, I ended up writing about 50 songs, and keeping just 15 for the album.”

So we'll see how that works out! In the meantime, catch Martin on tour with The Fine Constant at one of the dates below, and definitely check out the teaser of new material all the way at the bottom!
