So my buddy Topon Das of Fuck The Facts (who are coincidentally playing our CMJ showcase next month) posted about a show his band is playing on Thursday, and one of the bands totally stood out for me: Bong Jovi.
Weed-related band parodies are nothing new. Cannabis Corpse have made a whole career of it. But, with Cannabis Corpse, the songs are not Cannibal Corpse parodies (save for the titles) and they're actually good songs.
That sadly is not the case with Bong Jovi. Led by Weed Al Dankovick…
Hold on, pause. Let me say that again.

Pretty good right? The songs I found have great titles too, "You Give Bud A Bad Name" and "Wasted Stoned And Alive" both work for me. But the execution is where this band falters. Dankovic must've gotten really high before recording this because there is absolutely no cadence to his singing:
