Metal Injection LiveCast Quickie: Sexual Jeopardy

Posted on July 2nd, 2009

Tomorrow night, we will present a very special 4th of July Eve Edition of the METAL INJECTION LIVECAST. One of the segments on the show will be Sexual Jeopardy. What is Sexual Jeopardy? No, it's not what Michael Jackson found himself in after sucking off a 12-year-old. It's like the game show Jeopardy, except all the questions are about names for various filthy sex acts. So I guess it sorta is Michael Jackson-related after all. The first time we played this game, it became our most listened to show. We expect you fucks to break that record when we present Sexual Jeopardy part 2 LIVE tomorrow night at 10pm Eastern / 9pm Central right here!

SWASHBUCKLE do not have WiFi on the seven seas

Posted on July 2nd, 2009

Continuing our coverage of Pagan Fest 2009, we present a goofy interview with the pirate thrashers known as SWASHBUCKLE. Check out the interview below. We also posted two live clips of the band here and here. So grab your goblets and let's get to partying!

ANTHRAX is Spreading Their Disease

Posted on July 2nd, 2009

ANTHRAX - Madhouse

In the late 80's Anthrax was already a house hold name for head bangers across our nation. These thrash giants have seen it all since, and still remain to be one of today's most notable thrash metal bands ever. However if it's one thing that can be said about early Anthrax no matter what line up you prefer, it's that the NYC quintet brought the fun that was clearly missing from your normal heavy acts of it's time.

Going back to 1985 this music video for "Madhouse" off their 2nd LP "Spreading the Disease" was actually banned from MTV completely, who believed the video to be degrading towards mentally ill patients. The LP itself features the then, new vocalist Joey Belladona who replaced original front man Neil Turbin, and new bassist Frank Bello, who took over for Danny Lilker (now of SOD/Brutal Truth fame).

SHADOWS FALL Frontman Brian Fair Shares His Top 5 Favorite Albums Of All Time

Posted on June 30th, 2009

Shadows Fall might bring the metal. They might bring some core too. But, Brian Fair says on tour he mostly brings the classics and instrumental rock to soothe his moshed out soul. After an interview with roving reporter Justina Villanueva, Brian Fair (the dreaded scream machine) discussed what he puts to his ears when he's not on stage or in a recording booth.

Metallica, Master of Puppets

Master Of Puppets

Master of Puppets probably the most perfect record. That one stands the test of time. The first time I heard Metallica was Kill Em All, but Master Of Puppets–by that point I had already been a fan. That was the perfect record. It had the fast crazy song to open it, the 8-minute epic next, by the end there is the half ballad. They were the masters of the half ballad. Sanitarium and One and all those types of songs. And they also had slow dirge-y songs, like Things They Should Not Be. They had everything. They had everything that I liked about metal in one record. It's like goddammit–that's the record that you wanted to write. But, its like shit, they already did it. You can throw [Master Of Puppets] on today and it sounds just as fresh. Some metal records you can hear in history why they are awesome, but now you might be like, eh that didn't really survive. But, that record is always going to survive.

New ALICE IN CHAINS song posted and it's heavy as fuck!

Posted on June 30th, 2009

YouTube Preview ImageALICE IN CHAINS finally released their first single today in nearly 14 years, "A Looking In View" and as my good friend Axl Rosenberg put it "Cantrell and company have silenced the naysayers who said it couldn’t be done without Layne Staley, and schooled every Godsmack, every Hurt, every band that’s basically ripped AIC off in the years since their initial demise." Amen! You can download a free MP3 (in exchange for your email address) at Alice In Chains' official website. Consider me interested in hearing new Alice In Chains!
