This week's Livecast is sponsored by Rammstein playing live at the American Airlines Center this Tuesday, May 22nd. Leave a comment and you could win two tickets to the show!
This week's show featured just Rob, Sid and 3D of the regular crew, with a special appearance by Frank. We talked about pooping, neo-nazi black metal bands, the Black Sabbath drama and peeing in the corner of bathrooms. Basically, typical Livecast affair.
Here is this week's playlist:
Cattle Decapitation – A Living, Breathing Piece of Defecating Meat
Baroness – Take My Bones Away
Rammstein – Benzin
High On Fire – Bloody Knuckles
Kvelertak – Blodtørst
Spawn of Possession – Where Angels Go Demons Follow

Looking Back At A Week In Which We're Giving Away FREE MAYHEM FEST TICKETS!
The weekend is finally here, which means it's time to party! Of course, if you haven't had a chance to hit up the website this week, here is a look at some of the stories and videos you may have missed…
We launched our massive ticket giveaway for Mayhem Fest. We're giving away a pair for each stop of the tour. So enter today for your chance to see Slipknot, Slayer, Anthrax, Motorhead and others for free!
The most viewed video on the site was our new Ask The Artist episode, where we asked members of The Black Dahlia Murder, Skeletonwitch, The Acacia Strain, Periphery, iwrestledabearonce, Unearth, Dragonforce and others what band they would want to open for.
The biggest news of the week seems to be that Bill Ward is officially out of the Black Sabbath reunion. He released a lengthy statement explaining himself, and the rest of the band couldn't be bothered to do the same. Then, they cropped him out of all the photos on their official site. Message sent!
We found a video featuring every high pitch scream Tom Araya screamed in a Slayer track. Hilarious! We also found the WORST SLAYER TATTOO EVER. Also, TomArayaScream.com.
The biggest tour news of this week was the announcement late last week that Lamb of God, Dethklok and Gojira will be touring together in the late summer. Can't wait for that one.
After James Hetfield politely asked Dave Mustaine to stop talking about that silly supergroup, Dave Mustaine apologized. What a country!
Emo haircuts have been linked to having lazy eye. So watch out, emos!
The Greek elected a member of a black metal band to their Parliament. Too bad he's probably a neo-nazi.
See you on Sunday for an all new Livecast!

Oh, It's On! BLACK SABBATH Crop Bill Ward Out Of All Photos On Their Official Site
And, another chapter in the drama. BrooklynVegan noticed that Black Sabbath relaunched their official website today, which featured a pretty sweet interactive collage of photos and album covers. One person was noticeably missing…Bill Ward. He was cropped out of ALL the photos on the site. In a way, I can understand Sabbath's point of view, Ward's having contractual arguments with the band. But this seems like a bit of a low blow, as if to pretend like he never existed. Also, this seems like something a scorned lover would do… not the biggest heavy metal band in the world. This is going to get ugly.

THE HUMAN ABSTRACT Announce A European Date; Maybe They're Not Broken Up?
We were incredibly bummed to report that The Human Abstract decided to call it quits a few months ago. But then there seemed to be some hope. Maybe they weren't completely over just yet? Well, they aren't! The band have been officially announced as a part of the insane Czech festival, the Brutal Assault fest, which also features bands like Immortal, Pig Destroyer, Alcest, Machine Head, Norma Jean, The Black Dahlia Murder, Converge and many others. This has led to speculation, mainly by my boy Axl at MetalSucks, that the band wouldn't just fly all the way to Europe to play one show, they'd actually do a tour of Europe too. (more…)

BLACK SABBATH Have Found A 'Substitute' For Bill Ward
Probably the biggest metal news of the year is that the original lineup of Black Sabbath was getting back together for an album and a subsequent world tour. Unfortunately, since the announcement was made, it's been clear that drummer Bill Ward was having a hard time reaching an agreement with the band and its people. Then, news earlier this week that Ward will officially be sitting out the reunion shows at Birmingham, the Download festival, and Lollapalooza.
In wake of the shitty news that Ward will not be performing with Sabbath, at least for now, the band has released a statement saying they wouldn't be making detailed comments about Ward's statement earlier this week, instead keeping their response short and sweet: (more…)

URGEHAL Issues Statement Regarding Death Of Frontman
Black metal always seems to be ill-fated. Now that band members aren't burning down churches or killing each other, they just seem to be dying way too early. Earlier this week, we reported that Urgehal founding vocalist and guitarist Trond “Trondr Nefas” Bråthen died, and we didn't know too much else. Now, Urgehal has made a statement regarding the loss of their founding frontman: (more…)

Ryan Adams Performs A Stunning Acoustic Cover of DANZIG's "Mother"
Ryan Adams may not be in a metal band, he's in fact an acoustic guitar wielder, but he is clearly a metalhead. He loves his Iron Maiden, as evidenced by this incredible cover of "Wasted Years" and as the video after the jump shows, he loves his Danzig too, as he pulled out an acoustic cover of "Mother" at a recent show. One person in the crowd can be heard going "wow," he was impressed and so was I. Check this out: (more…)

3 INCHES OF BLOOD Pay Tribute To DIO
Yesterday, May 16th, was the two year anniversary of Ronnie James Dio's passing, and the metal world has never been the same since. The man gave us the devil horns, he gave us great tunes and most of all, by all accounts he was an awesome dude (and by Dave Mustaine's account, a pothead.) Anyway, 3 Inches of Blood released a lyric video for their track "Look Out" and it was written as a tribute to Dio. We miss you Ronnie. If this isn't enough Dio for you, check out our report from the Dio memorial two years ago.

AGALLOCH Want To Mellow You Out This Summer
I've spoken of my love of Agalloch in the past, it's a band that everybody here at Metal Injection can agree about. And now, we can see them live in our backyard. Well, not literally…that would be awesome. The band has announced a month's worth of dates all through the US, hitting major markets like New York, Chicago, Austin, Atlanta and many others. LAMB OF GOD Seeks Global Fans for 2012 Documentary
It appears our beloved Richmond, VA-based metal titans – Lamb of God – are infiltrating the houses of the [un]holy and global, metal gospel; with the recognition that their fan-base has extended far into the obscurest reaches of the Asian subcontinent and Middle East, Lamb of God has chosen one of the most politically turbulent, terror-stricken regions for their upcoming documentary: the Gaza Strip. In their documentary, the band will intersperse footing of their 2012, world tour with the most compelling stories of their fans, who hail from all over the world. (more…)
