THE OCEAN Announces Double Album Phanerozoic, Streams Precambrian Reissue

With a new version of "Rhyacian."

With a new version of "Rhyacian."

The legend of a new The Ocean album is finally coming to a close. The band originally stated in 2016 that a new album would be out in 2017, the follow-up to 2013's Pelagial, but clearly that never happened. Then recently the band alluded to dropping a new album in 2018 and in 2019, though much more information than that never surfaces.

Now in an article with Noisey promoting the band's reissue of 2007's Precambrian, The Ocean has revealed there's a new two-part album called Phanerozoic coming in September 2018 and an unspecified time in 2019. No singles or any real information has been divulged about the records just yet, but the prospect of two new The Ocean album is ridiculous tantalizing. I mean come on, Pelagial was objectively a perfect album and following that up isn't going to be easy.

Anyway, stream the reissue of Precambrian below, which also features a new re-recorded version of the song "Rhycian," and grab a copy here.
