Hi, what are you looking for?

Oh

Where is the New OPETH Single?

It was promised to be released yesterday but still hasn't arrived.

It was promised to be released yesterday but still hasn't arrived.

When Opeth officially announced their new album, Pale Communion, last month, they promised they would be releasing a single, titled “Cusp of Eternity,” on May 6th…which was yesterday.

Yesterday came and went and no single. Pre-orders, which were also promised for yesterday, have not gone up either.

Opeth fans are pretty upset, taking to the band's and Roadrunner's Facebook page to complain about the false promise. The only public comment made was when an Opeth fan commented on a post about another Roadrunner band, Black Stone Cherry asking when the pre-orders for Opeth would go up.

The response from Roadrunner? "After you buy and listen to this, of course."

Obviously, it was a sarcastic remark, but perhaps sarcasm isn't the best technique when customers are pissed.

For what it's worth, we have heard there were some massive layoffs in the digital department last week at Roadrunner, so that might be what's causing the setbacks.

Update: We have just heard from a reliable source, who choses to remain anonymous that the album was pushed back to August. We are trying to get confirmation on this.

While you can't hear new Opeth just yet, you can read all about EVERY track on the new album, as we got an advance listen and wrote about it. Read our track by track break down here.
