SPAWN OF POSSESSION Calls It Quits After 20 Years

Well, that sucks.

Well, that sucks.

Despite putting out three albums and two demos between 2000 and 2012, Spawn Of Possession has always been regarded as one of the best damn technical death metal bands that has ever existed. The band formed in 1997, and has unfortunately called it quits in 2017 after a period of inactivity and failing to put together a new album.

Here's the band's brief announcement on the matter.

Last week we decided to put SoP to rest due to several problems, mostly because we now realise we dont have the time to either finish a beast like a new album properly or do anything else with SoP for a long time. So the band has pretty much just faded away at this point. Anyway! We are very thankful for all the support we had through the years!

Cheers!

Spawn Of Possession's final lineup consisted of vocalist Dennis Röndum ( ex-Visceral Bleeding, ex-Strangulation), guitarists Jonas Bryssling and Christian Münzner (Alkaloid, ex-Obscura, ex-Necrophagist), bassist Erlend Caspersen (Abhorrent, ex-Deeds Of Flesh), and drummer Henrik Schönström (Quest of AidanceUnmoored).

If you're unfamiliar, check out what would be Spawn Of Possession's final album Incurso, released in 2012, below.
