Waa Waa Wee Wa. Sacha Baron Cohen, the peformer best known for his roles as Borat, Ali G and Bruno has been confirmed to be playing Freddie Mercury in a Queen biopic set to start shooting next year. The film is expected to track the band from their beginnings to their legendary Live Aid performance in 1985.
This looks to be a serious project as well, with the writer attached, Peter Morgan, being responsible for Frost/Nixon, The Queen (the other one), The Last King of Scotland and others. The remaining members of the band are also attached to the movie, meaning there will be original music in the film. This is certainly an intriguing turn of events. Consider me on board!
