Riots Break Out At Recent TRASH TALK Shows

Trash Talk have been on a string of free hardcore shows (backed by big money from corporate sponsors like Vice and Nike). These shows are always insane. The quartet is all about brining back the old-school danger aesthetic of hardcore shows. They are the new era of music, signing to hip-hop label Odd Future (and releasing the greatest press release ever). But, it might be a bit too dangerous.

According to ThePRP, a mini-riot broke out during their free LA show, when fans who couldn't get in were getting aggressive and eventually the riot squad had to be called in to pepper spray. A similar occurrence happened at last week's free New York City show.

BrooklynVegan covered the show and wrote:

For Trash Talk's last song, they asked every single person in the room to run out of the venue on to the street to join with the people who couldn't get in. That didn't work out so well though, as the security at the door was already overwhelmed and chaos and a fight quickly ensued outside as Todd P and the rest of the 285 Kent crew tried to calm the masses.

Can a band like Trash Talk sustain in today's lawsuit-heavy atmosphere. If the band gets a reputation for fights and mini-riots happening around their shows, a lot of venues will be much more hesitant to book them. Then again, they probably could give a fuck…which is very much part of the appeal.
