QUIET RIOT Reportedly Fires Its Singer, Hires American Idol Finalist

Yes, Quiet Riot is still a band.

Yes, Quiet Riot is still a band.

There's a lot of shocking news in here, so buckle up.

First of all, Quiet Riot is releasing a new album called Road Rage on April 21, just in case you thought they disappeared after the 80s were over. Second of all, this is Quiet Riot's eleventh album since 1983, meaning they've not only not disappeared, but have fairly consistently doing things over the years.

The band recorded Road Rage with its seventh vocalist, Seann Nicols, and according todrummer Frankie Banali in Rocks Magazine, Quiet Riot has parted ways with Nicols after five shows. The magazine also reports that American Idol season 10 finalist James Durbin has taken Nicols' place.

"We had to make the best decision for Quiet Riot. If there are problems so early in the cooperation, it's better to pull the emergency brake."

Dude seems like a logical choice, considering he performed Judas Priest on the show's season finale, and has worked with Quiet Riot guitarist Alex Grossi on his EP. Not to mention Durbin isn't exactly being subtle about his recruitment by Quiet Riot.
