Of Course! One of The Scientists Who Discovered Water on Mars Is A Metalhead

We're everywhere!

We're everywhere!

While some metalheads might make us cringe, others make us damn proud to be metalheads. Such is the case with grad student Lujendra “Luju” Ojha. You may have seen Ojha's name in the news lately for discovering that Mars has flowing salt water which is the first step in sending a man to Mars.

The 25-year-old Ojha is currently enrolled in graduate school at Georgia Tech pursuing a a Ph.D. The fine folks at CNet did a bit of research and found the below photo on Ojha's personal site and inquired about it:

Ojha used to have a death metal band but sadly abandoned it because metal doesn't pay the bills:

"Yeah, that was an old life," Ojha confesses with a laugh. "I was kind of in poverty with music. I wasn't making enough money so I said screw music, let's go to science, maybe there's more money in it. But there isn't money in science either."

Sadly, there is no evidence of what his band sounds like but if anybody knows the dude and figures it out let us know in the comments. Between him and the dude who successfully landed a probe on a comet, I'd say metalheads are doing quite alright in the science world.
