Last night I headed out to Union Pool to check out a pretty awesome bill of heavy metal. The show was opened with New York's own Wetnurse who always deliver. Following them was Landmine Marathon. I've seen Landmine at SXSW earlier this year, and I think it was awesome. It's hard to recall because I was drunk the whole time. At this show, I was just stoned. So, surprisingly, my memory is much better.
I enjoy Landmine on CD, but as unARTigNYC's footage above proves, it's a whole different beast live. It's no secret that Grace Perry is a very attractive young lady. There is a reason she was on the cover of the Revolver Hottest Chicks In Metal this year. And yet, when the band starts, that almost doesn't matter anymore. She turns into a beast ready to just take your head off. Her stage presence is so captivating as she stretches parts of her face and shrieks into the mic.
The rest of the band are no slouches either. The music is fun and thrashy and you cannot resist banging your head. It was a great show overall.
