Just a quick recap: In July, Cro-Mags were set to play the CBGB Festival at Webster Hall. Their set never happened when former bassist Harley Flanagan showed up in the VIP area and allegedly stabbed Mike “The Gook” Couls and one other person and eventually got taken down by cops and sent to Rikers. Flanagan maintained his innocence and said he was acting in self-defense.
Well it looks like maybe Harley might be telling the truth, as Vice reports the assistant defense attorney has not be able to procure any witnesses.
According to the report (which was very favorable of Flanagan by the way), if the ADA can't secure witnesses and a grand jury by December 8th, the case is adjourned and Harley would be free.
It's easy to see why the ADA is having a hard time finding any eyewitnesses. Even if Flanagan did do it, the old adage "snitches get stiches" come to mind.
