FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH Show Ends Abruptly After Ivan Moody Could Not Continue Due To The Loss Of His Mother

Moody was dealing with the death of his mother, which happened that day, and after a few songs, he could not continue.

Rock Feed was the first to report that at last night's (Nov. 25th) Five Finger Death Punch show at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA ended abrupty after a few songs and frontman Ivan Moody had to be “led by hand off stage.”

Rock Feed reports that it was clear Moody was drinking, and it turns out the issue was that Moody was dealing with his mother's passing, which was happening that very day. Moody told the crowd "My mother is actually passing along today, and I chose to here today instead of with her. So thank you so much for coming." In video footage of that speech (directly below), Moody said.

UPDATE: Shortly after this story broke, Moody's sister, Sandi released a statement saying her mother was alive and well. Read her full statement here.

UPDAT #2: One night after this disastourous performance, Moody took the stage again to claim he had a mental meltdown the night before. See his entire speech here.

Rock Feed reports that shortly after Moody was walked off stage, bassist Chris Kael came back out and apologized saying the band could not continue.

“As you can see tonight is a very emotional night. We came out here… we tried to put on a show for you guys but sometimes things are heavier than even we can imagine. So on behalf of Five Finger Death Punch, all of us, we appreciate you guys coming out — we need to get back there and be with our frontman. Take care of your family…” Footage of Kael's speech can be seen in this Rock Feed report:

According to setlist.fm, the band only played eight songs in their abbreviated set (the night before they played 14) and bassist Chris Kael sang three of the eight.

Critics of the band may point to Moody's previous onstage meltdown, but this seems like a very different and unfortunate situation. No word on if refunds were offered to DCU Center patrons. UPDATE: Shortly after this story broke, Moody's sister, Sandi released a statement saying her mother was alive and well.
