I am back in my computer chair after way too much debauchery at South by Southwest last week. We'll be posting all of our coverage over the next few days, but before we do I want to get to a story I missed last week because of my time away from the computer… Gaza announced on Friday that they are no longer a band.
The band made it Facebook official by releasing this statement:
Gaza is no longer a band. A big thank you to anyone that has supported us. Some of us will continue to make music together.
The band kept it short and sweet with their breakup announcement and it feels like it came out of nowhere, unless you count the recent controversy surrounding the band's frontman. Either way, the band gave us some great music along the way.
We'll keep you posted if/when the band members announce their new projects. For now, check out one of my all time favorite interviews which I conducted with the band a few years ago:
