One-Woman Black Metal Act MYRKUR Covered BATHORY And Made It A Gorgeous Choral Song

Bathory made beautiful.

Bathory made beautiful.

Myrkur is quickly becoming one of my favorite modern black metal acts. Her music alone is fantastic, as we've heard from her upcoming record M due out August 21, though one of the more beautiful things she's done recently is a cover of "Song To Hall Up High" by Bathory. The song was an acoustic pieces off Bathory's Hammerheart record and Myrkur did the whole thing with just her voice… and it's moving. Is there anything this woman can't do?

Here's the original, for comparison.

As far as I can tell, this isn't to be included on her upcoming record.
