MYRKUR To Release Mareridt This Fall, Shares Nyckelharpa Folk Song Cover

Sidenote – the nyckelharpa is a really cool instrument.

Myrkur, the one-woman black metal project from singer-songwriter Amalie Bruun, will be releasing a new album titled Mareridt this fall via Relapse Records. The album was recorded by Randall Dunn (Marissa Nadler, Wolves In The Throne Room), and Relapse says there's going to be a few "special guests" on the album, which is exciting considering she's worked with musicians like Liam Wilson of The Dillinger Escape Plan and Kristoffer Rygg of Ulver.

In the meantime, check out her cover of Scandinavian folk music on a nyckelharpa, which Myrkur says is "almost like a violin with buttons" and "not easy to get a hold of."
