Machine Head have just been full of surprises lately. They announce a tour throughout America that will hit up a bunch of smaller markets, they subtly show off that their new record will have a string section on it and now they're telling us that the new record will be recorded to tape!
Below is the studio video of the band doing their thing and, while there's a lot of gear talk and general nerdiness in a good way throughout, it's still an interesting watch just to see how they're going about the process.
As a dude who doesn't know much about recording, I'd be interested to hear an example of something tracked on tape and something tracked digitally (preferably the same thing) just to see the differences.
