HAVOK's New Song "Ingsoc" Is A Thrashy, Mid-Paced Adventure Through George Orwell's 1984

Very 1984, very groovy. Also, the track is 7 minutes long.

Havok's upcoming album Conformicide seems like it's dealing directly with the current state of affairs within the United States, and the new "Ingsoc" only further confirms that assumption. It's a seven-minute long track that covers a lot of ground musically, but also lyrically deals with the new/old hot topic of the novel 1984, according to frontman/guitarist David Sanchez.

"1984 takes place in a socialist hell wherein there is perpetual war, government-sanctioned propaganda, massive gaps between the rich and poor, and 'Big Brother' spies on every citizen. It appears that Orwell was not just a novelist, but a prophet; as 'Ingsoc' has become all too real. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength."

For those unaware, INGSOC is "the political ideology of the totalitarian government of Oceania" in the 1984 novel. You can pre-order Conformicide here before its March 10 release date.
