With the departure of guitarist and vocalist Nicholas Thornbury in 2016 came a name change for Vattnet Viskar, as well as a sound change. The band dropped the second half of its name to become simply Vattnet, and focused on a much catchier, much more clean vocal-focused sound. As opposed to its blackgaze, almost Deafheaven-esque former sound, if you weren't familiar, which served the band from 2011 to 2015.
