THE ABSENCE Returns After Seven Years With "A Gift For The Obsessed," New Album In March

The Absence are no longer absent. Hooray!

The Absence wasn't entirely absent since its 2010 album Enemy Unbound. The Absence was briefly joined by Scar Symmetry guitarist Per Nilsson in 2013 for the song "Oceans," and then released another track called "Septic Testament" in 2016. Now armed with two new guitarists – Taylor Nordberg (Infernaeon, ex-Wombbath) and Joey Concepcion (Armageddon) – the band has announced its new album A Gift For The Obsessed to be released March 23.

You can hear the extremely melodic, almost old-school-Carcass-like at points title track above, and pre-order the album here.
