Stälker will release its new album Shadow Of The Sword this Friday via Napalm Records, though I'm not entirely convinced the band didn't just time travel from 1985 and the album was recorded back then. My skepticism is backed up by our premiere of the song and video "Shocked To Death," which is clad in leather, whammy bar guitar solos, and Aviator sunglasses.
Whatever the case may be, "Shocked To Death" rips hard. I love the urgent, thrashy nature of the riffs and the effortlessly operatic-meets-shouted vocals. It all comes together in such a perfectly modern retro package that it's straight up impossible not to love it.
