METALLICA's James Hetfield Talks About His Guitar Made From Band's Old Garage

The work that went into this thing is insane.

Metallica used to rehearse and write in a garage at the address 3132 Carlson Boulevard, El Cerrito, California from 1983 to 1986. The band wrote the majority of both Ride The Lightning and Master Of Puppets in the garage, and after they left the place was eventually torn down. Hetfield managed to procure some of the torn-down garage's wood from an artist friend and had a killer guitar made out of it.

You can watch a mini-documentary on the guitar's creation and all the incredible intricacies of the work that went into it above, and then you can grab the band's upcoming reissue of The $5.98 EP – Garage Days Re-Revisited below.
