Sikth are far from underrated imo. They pretty much have a cult following who rate them higher than their wives.

I can attest to this. I do.

Can someone list the bands named? I'm not English native and I can't understand a few of them. Thanks

Here's the rundown of the band/member being interviewed and who they recommended. I think I got all of them:

      Mutoid Man – Captain Beyond
Devin Townsend – Cop Shoot Cop/The Cardiacs
      Mastodon – Kvelertak
      Earthside – Leprous
      The Haunted – Plini
      Periphery – Destrage/Sikth
      Sikth – Crowbar
Charred Walls of The Damned – Banshee
Toothgrinder – Moon Tooth/The Budos Band
      Meshuggah – C.B Murdoc
The Dillinger Escape Plan – Coldplay, of course.

Doesn't underrated mean something like "known but not appreciated enough"? For example, as a guitarist, Alex Lifeson of Rush is underrated (except by Rush fans, of course). People know who he is but he's not frequently name checked as one of the great guitarists of the 70s/80s. An underrated band would be one that a lot of people have heard, or at least heard OF, but don't appreciate them in some way for some reason.

C.B Murdoc is a good choice for Tomas Haake to make. I heard both of their albums for the first time about a week or two ago, and they sound an awful lot like early Meshuggah does. Maybe not quite as good, but it's nice to have a band aping Meshuggah that's actually still keeping it heavy.

As far as my own personal pick it would definitely be Bloodshot Dawn. First album was a crazy blend of thrash, melodeath and tech death, with a bit of not-shit metalcore sprinkled in for good measure. Second one was much more straight-up melodic tech death, but both are great in their own way. British band, which is not the first place you'd think of for that style, but they absolutely shred. Their former lead guitarist just joined Scar Symmetry, and he's way overqualified to be a second guitarist. Bloodshot's been self-financed the entire way, so they really get very little big-time exposure, but they're so good at what they do, that they really deserve more attention.

Bloodshot Dawn are a killer band!

I dont know if its underrated but spartan is a good one in my humble young metal opinion because they arent that old and they havent had real WW exposure as far as i know they only have done some small european tours and gigs in there home country(netherlands) but still im not really into deathmetal but i love this band with there greek mytholgical(probably spelled wrong) lyrics and they are just good all around but thats just my humble opinionm/

Moon tooth. Yes! Played and hung with those guys a handful of times. They are the real deal. Even if you do not like their music, see their live show. It is always a party
