Wes Borland On New LIMP BIZKIT Album: I'm Not Sure What Fred Durst Is Doing

So I guess it's not done and on the Internet somewhere?

So I guess it's not done and on the Internet somewhere?

In the course of the past year, we've heard two very conflicting things about Limp Bizkit's eternally-coming-out-soon new album Stampede Of The Disco Elephants. Vocalist Fred Durst said that the reason the album wasn't out was that he wasn't happy with it, and then about a year later Durst told the world that the album has been out on the Internet and nobody has found it yet.

Now it seems like the Internet comment might not be true, as guitarist Wes Borland tells NME that Durst has it and is doing vocals. Borland says he's basically at the will of Durst at this point, and whenever Durst is done then he'll pass it back off to Borland, who will be in charge of mixing and editing.

I don’t know. I did what I was going to do on it over the past few years, and I think Fred’s just trying to figure out what he wants to do. I know he’s in a studio working on it right now, but I’m not sure what he’s doing.

I’m basically waiting for him to finish something so that I can take it and starting mixing and editing it into whatever it’s going to be. We did so many sessions – there’s 28 or 29 songs, and whatever he chooses out of that to do vocals on, I’ll take that and work on it at my house and turn it into a record.

When asked what the new album sounds like, Borland says it's "like Gold Cobra or Chocolate Starfish. It’s the same sound. It’s not breaking down any new barriers." So yeah, Borland doesn't sound like he's super stoked on the album.
