Now on their fifth record, and with fourteen years under their collective belts, Delain have figure out who they are. Moonlovers is more of the band differentiating themselves from the sea of female-fronted melodic metal bands by embracing more of a pop style than an operatic style. Fans shouldn't be upset with this one. Also, those looking for a little more than the norm from them should check out "Hands of Gold" which features Alissa from Arch Enemy.

It's been well documented, but I'll say it again… This is Chuck-D of Public Enemy, B-Real of Cypress Hill, and Rage Against the Machine (minus Zach). This collaboration may be a dream come true for those into early rap and Rage. The EP is mostly live stuff, but it's still a pretty interesting listening considering the line-up.

Fresh off announcing he is opening the Animals as Leaders and Intervals tour, Plini is dropping is first full-length album. Like all his work, the record is graceful guitar wanking and stellar compositions. This time it's just more at once, which is pretty rad.

Here is album number four in the avalanche of 2016 releases from Omar, and this one is special. It features the oldest material on this series, and includes Teri Gender Bender (Le Butcherettes), alongside Eva Gardner (Mars Volta's Tremulant ep), Jon Theodore (most Mars Volta releases), Isiah "Ikey" Owens (most Mars Volta) and John Frusciante (most Mars Volta and Red Hot Chili Peppers). So it is essentially a Mars Volta record with Omar on the mic.

This melodic death metal supergroup came out swinging in 2010 on For Aeons Past, then hit just as hard with part one of this series Nightmare In The Waking State: Part I. Now, less than a year since Part I dropped, Part II has arrived and fans salivating since November shall not be disappointed. Ex-Scar Symmetry voice Christian Avestamis is still killing it, and the other guys (who are also all current and former members of great bands) ain't no slouches here neither.
SubRosa – For This We Fought The Battle Of Ages

Slowing things down this week are SubRosa. The band's fourth record is doomy, and just as full of beauty and dread as one could hope. This one completely entrances the listener in a unique way with their dueling violins, crushing rhythms and overall atmosphere.

Outlier is a fitting title for this band's record, and especially to close out this Weekly Injection. Australian's band of boundary-crossing madmen have returned to twist and turn through your brain. They bring their particular blend of catchy melodies, borderline djent rhythms, and an almost Dillinger Escape Plan-level of chaos.
