Call Of The Void – AYFKM EPb128cdvthxs-_sl1500_

Genre: Sludge/hardcore
Origin: Boulder, Colorado
Label: Translation Loss

Buy now on Amazon.com

This EP is fucking heavy, and noisy. It features five new songs which should tide you over until their next full-length record of decimation. Side note: my cat hated the feedback on this EP trailer guys. Dial it back her sake, cool? Cool.

Machinae Supremacy – Into The Night World618356

Genre: Power metal/electronic
Origin: Luleå, Sweden
Label: Hubnester Records

Buy now from their store

If you love power metal with lots of bleeps and bloops from synths, then this album is for you. Overall a solid offering for the band's tenth album. Also, if that doesn't do it for you, they also have this cover of the Gerudo Valley song from Ocarina of Time they dropped this year.

Mayhem – De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas Alive a0538086278_10

Genre: Black metal
Origin: Oslo, Norway
Label: Self

Buy now on Bandcamp.com

Almost a year after the recording, Mayhem are releasing this set from their Black Christmass Festival appearance. They played De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas in its entirety. I'd assume they played other stuff that night, but the CD doesn't include it, so whatever.

Omar Rodriguez-Lopez – Some Need It Lonely51qrfjzs07l-_ss500

Genre: Experimental
Origin: El Paso, Texas
Label: Ipecac

Buy now on Amazon.com

We've reached the end of this. This is number twelve of the twelve album Ipecac series. Omar goes out with a bang and brings his friends from Le Butcherettes (Teri Gender Bender), Mars Volta (Cedric Bixler-Zavala, Jon Theodore, Marcel Rodriguez-Lopez, and Adrian Terrazas-Gonzalez), and Deantoni Parks. This was a great way to end this series, and gold star me for for discussing all twelve for some reason.

Rush – 2112: 40th Reissue 514undpyxll

Genre: Prog
Origin: Willowdale, Canada
Label: Universal

Buy now on Amazon.com

This album has been re-released a bunch of times. It's kind of annoying how many times, honestly. It's safe to assume that there's ANOTHER remastered version in this and some other bonus bells and whistles. However, I am including this because of a bonus disc that features some covers of tracks from the album by Alice in Chains, Steven Wilson, Basically Foo Fighters (Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, and Nick Raskulinecz) and more.

Vesen – Rorschach51c9zkwmml

Genre: Thrash
Origin: Nes på Romerike, Norway
Label: Soulseller

Buy now on Amazon.com

Deciding to end this week (and maybe the Weekly Injection for the year?) with some no frills thrash. This record sets out to beat the fuck out of the listener. Follow up, my cat may just hate feedback in songs. She doesn't seem to like this one either.

Also dropping today…

Ache – Fade Away (Dead City) – Hardcore
The Funeral Portrait – A Moment Of Silence (Revival) – Post-hardcore
Megosh – Apostasy (Outerloop) – Rock
