Slash Confirms GUNS N' ROSES Is Working On A New Album

"We're hoping to put a new record out, and we'll just see what happens when it happens."

Guns N' Roses potentially doing a new record has been rumored for a while now. Guitarist Richard Fortus wouldn't quite own up to it while vocalist Axl Rose said there was some new stuff floating around. Now Slash is just flat out coming out and confirming it in an interview with Masa Ito, saying there is absolutely new material being worked on and it's just a matter of actually setting aside the time to record.

Slash also confirms that most of the band is involved in the writing process, though he doesn't mention keyboardist Dizzy Reed.

"Axl, Duff, myself and Richard have all talked about… there's material and stuff going on already for a new record. It's just, with Guns N' Roses, you don't go, 'Oh, there is a plan, and it's gonna be like this,' because that's not how it works. So, basically, the only real answer to give is we're hoping to put a new record out, and we'll just see what happens when it happens."

This will be the band's first album since 1993's "The Spaghetti Incident?" to feature Slash, Duff and Axl. I mean, yes, Chinese Democracy was technically a Guns N' Roses record, but really it was just one step short of being an Axl Rose solo album featuring everyone under the sun who was available on any given day.
