Proof that Members of KORN Are In The Studio, Recording A New Album

Jonathan Davis is about to do a massive solo tour, so we'll see.

It's been about a year and a half since Korn's latest album The Serenity Of Suffering and it looks like the band just might be working on a new one already.

At a recent screening of the new documentary Mind Over Mater, guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer could not attend in person. Instead, he answers some questions about the film in which he appears from a remote studio location. ReelAbilities Film Festival posted the video on Twitter and added that he's joining from the studio where "@Korn [is] recording [their] new record."

The PRP also points out that Welch posted a video wishing Breaking Benjamin's guitarist a happy birthday three days ago with the whole band in what appears to be a studio.

We know that Welch was talking about the band's consideration for a new record in October 2017, so we'll see. Maybe they're laying down some preliminary tracks and they'll come back to it later in the year though, considering Korn is going to be in Australia and Japan from March 24 to March 31.

Not to mention, frontman Jonathan Davis is going to be doing a massive world tour for his solo album from April 6 to June 22, and likely a little longer to promote his new solo album.

It could be a while until we actually hear new music from Korn. I would bet nothing until 2019.

Guitarist Brian "Head" Welch told  Good Company last year, that the new album will be guitar-focused like their last release, The Serenity of Suffering:

The next record we’re talking about doing. You know, I think it’s gonna be a combination of maybe both of these [The Serenity Of Suffering & The Paradigm Shift] We’ll try some new stuff though, but we’re definitely going to focus on guitars again.

Me and [guitarist] Munky are like… We put in the most hours with the band. ‘Cause Jonathan, he said he’s gonna spend more time writing with us this record. ‘Cause he just came in—the last two records that I’ve been back—he came at the last… Like when we were done.

He says: ‘Gimmie the songs when you’re done and I’ll write lyrics.’ He’s gonna come in and be involved with the music. So yeah, I think we’ll have a good record, an even better record this time around because everybody [is] involved.
