This is going to big. Legendary frontman Phil Anselmo (you may have heard of his bands Pantera and Down) just announced the release of his first solo album, Walk Through Exits Only.
The album will hit stores and digital retailers like iTunes on July 16th via his Housecore Records label. Phil has been working on the project for the last few years at his home studio, Nodferatu's Lair. His band, the Illegals consists of Marzi Montazeri/guitar, and drummer Jose Manuel "Blue" Gonzales. The album was co-produced by Anselmo and Michael Thompson. Phil describes the record as an aggressive outing:
"It wasn't about doing a paint-by-numbers thrash or heavy metal record," Anselmo explained about the project. "It's an angry album that only I could do. I don't see anybody else out there screaming about the same shit I'm screaming about. On this album, there isn't any wordplay, there isn't any hidden message, it's all right there in front of you."
