PERIPHERY's Next Album Now Has A Release Date

The thing about magazines is, everything needs to be in at least two months before the issue comes out. That includes advertising. Turns out somebody at Sumerian Records jumped the gun on Periphery advertising. An advert for the band's forthcoming sophmore release can be seen in the newest Revolver, the Golden Gods special issue. While there is no title, we do know it will be out July 3rd and it will feature a guest solo from John Petrucci of Dream Theater. Turns out the band might be a little upset about this news surfacing…

Speaking on his Formpsring page, frontman Spencer Sotelo writes:

Bad planning on somebody’s end. We were just as surprised as anyone else when we saw that revolver had put the release date out there when no official announcement has been made.

Bad planning on the label's end, no question.

I actually had the privilege of hearing some new tunes on Periphery's bus a few weeks ago at the New England Metal and Hardcore Fest. Needless to say, it sounds like Periphery, but more advanced. The production sounds better, the vocals are great, and it just has a lot of kick.

Hopefully, everybody will get to hear a taste soon.
