OBITUARY Partners With Relapse Records, Is Mixing Their New Record

A year after they got the funds, we get the album!

A year after they got the funds, we get the album!

Has it really been almost a year since Obituary crowd funded their upcoming album? At least all that funding from you all is going to pay off soon, considering the band are currently mixing their new album. Obituary have also announced that they have signed a distribution deal with Relapse Records to get it out to the masses!

The band had this to say via Facebook:

"You guys know that we were successfully able to record this album on our own thanks to the support from our Fans and the KickStarter Campaign. (KS Backers, you have your own update waiting for you so go check it out)

Now, we are ready to move forward with the next phase. This is a very important task and one that we will need help with to get it printed and distributed once the recording is complete.

We are very happy to announce that we have partnered up with Relapse Records to help us with this task. They will handle the Marketing Campaign and World Wide Distribution of the Album.

We have been working non-stop Mixing the New Album, are super excited how it is turning out and can't wait for you guys to get your hands on it!

Still a ton of work to do to get this thing finished but we are moving right along and could not be more excited about this Release and the World Tour to support it.

We will be confirming all the tour dates soon so let us know where you live and where we should be playing shows!"

The one bit of bad news in this is the band says there is still "a ton of work to do," so we'll keep you posted if we know anything substantial. In the meantime, why not entertain yourself with three new songs the band played live last year?
