LAMB OF GOD Frontman Not Pissed Resolution Gets Leaked

Lamb Of God

I find it really weird how people involved in music production, and even movie production, will leak their art onto the Internet, and basically, screw themselves. But people do it, and they do it a lot. Someone leaked a shit quality version of Lamb of God's upcoming Resolution. The President of the Livecast, and Lamb of God frontman, Randy Blythe shared his thoughts of the premature leak via his Twitter:

Stoked that the leak of "Resolution" is SHIT. Just one reason I actually BUY records. Those that dont wait don't get the FULL experience ha!

I mean think about it- I bought Slayer's "Reign In Blood" THE DAY it came out. There was no leaking then- I blasted it FULL VOLUME & was like "HOLY FUCK!". The VERY FIRST TIME I heard "Angel of Death" it was BEYOND AWESOME. I'm so glad I wasn't robbed of that experience byhearing a crappy copy- it made a FUCKING IMPACT.

He does bring up a valid point. Having to wait is part of the whole music process. Or at least, it seemed like it was before Napster and the introduction of P2P. What do you think?

  1. Indeed it is a valid point. Leaks can ruin the mystery and impact an album can make on virgin ears versus knowing exactly what to expect. The element of surprise is lost as is the downloader's desire to buy it legally.

I blame a bad economy, forgettable music and lack of true albums. There's less and less releases that you want to listen to from start to finish versus just a handful of tracks. I also blame the Internet for making every album ever released available at the click of a few keys and in a few minutes.

    I'm rant-y today, sorry.

Well, I'm excited for the new album, and I'm gonna wait 'til it comes out, but I doubt it'll have anything NEAR the same impact as Reign in Blood did back in the day. Or I could be wrong. Maybe this is the best album to come out of modern metal.

Umm, an album can make an impact the first time you hear it regardless of whether it was bought or downloaded, because the first time you hear it is um, the first time you hear it – so you can be surprised no matter what.

The difference is now artists can't get away with putting out a shitty album and still raking in the cash. I know not everyone who downloads buys what they like, but a large portion of us do. There's alot of music out there, and I've been burned many times in the past buying things blindly, or after hearing one good song. Not anymore. The power is in the music listeners hands rather than the artist, or more importantly, the record labels, and they hate that.

  4. Don't be a dbag, if you don't have the money, don't rip it. Support metal!

I see a hole in this…. What about singles they release for free on the web (you get a free download of ghost walking when you pre-order the album)? Sure it may not take away from the first time experiance entirely but it still gets watered down a bit. If the first time experiance is what he is worried about, then dont release any singles before the release date (of course with the way the industry works these days, thats a very very stupid thing to do). I agree wih the comment earlier, it puts the listener first so shitty cant cash in on over priced junk, money which the band sees little of anyways.

I gotta admit I am guilty of downloading the leaked album but only because I am highly impatient when I'm excited about something lol….Its kind of like someone who is going to buy an 8 ball of cocaine but cant wait til they pick it up to do it so they borrow a line from a friend for the ride to get it lol….and as for the experience it won't be lost to me because the quality was low so I can't wait to buy the album and hear it crisp and clear. The quality was crappier the louder it went so as soon as I leave the store it will be in the cd player and turned up to the point of almost bursting my speakers…
